How long are the sessions?
Sessions are 50 minutes long. For the first family session, 75 minutes is recommended.
Are your prices negotiable?
Although I have a standard fee, I prefer to discuss this with you when you contact me to set up your initial visit. Currently, I am not contracted with health insurance policies. However, I will be happy to provide you with a monthly statement of services rendered (a superbill) if you wish to seek reimbursement from your insurance company.
What questions should I ask my insurance company?
If you are seeking third party reimbursement, below is a list of questions to ask your insurance company prior to the first session:
- What percentage of my bill will be covered for services obtained from an out-of-network provider?
- How many sessions will be covered per calendar year?
- What is my deductible?
- What is my co-payment?
What approaches do you use in your practice
Each person is unique so there is not one approach that I use. In general, sessions are conversational, you will not be the only one talking. I am a lifelong learner and am committed to providing my clients with the best approaches available. Though I am classically trained in psychodynamic theories, I also utilize solution-focused and narrative therapy to collaboratively work with you (and your treatment team) towards your goals.
What hours do you see clients?
I have day and evening appointments available. Generally between the hours of 9am – 7pm
How long does someone usually see a therapist?
Generally I meet with my clients once or twice a week, I make recommendations based on your specific needs during the first session. I have seen clients for periods as short as six weeks and some much longer. It is really up to you and what you’re wanting and/or needing support with in your life.
How do I know if counseling is right for me?
Let’s have a conversation over the phone to talk about this. Many people have misconceptions about therapy and I will do my best to walk you through the process and answer your questions in advance.
Do you offer therapy in other languages?
Currently I do not, but I know other great therapists who are fluent in other languages to which I can refer you.
